Stress management

What it involves

Stress is a normal response designed for short emergencies. When it becomes the permanent background of work and life, body and mind wear down — sleep, patience, focus, and health with them.

How sessions help

The work starts by taking the mechanism seriously. The stress response is superb equipment for brief challenges: it mobilises energy, sharpens attention, and then — in the design — switches off. What wears people down is the response that never switches off: the system kept on permanent duty by workload, mental load, and days without real recovery. The first sessions map exactly that: where the pressure comes from, what it does to your body and sleep, and — just as important — where the recovery that should be balancing it has quietly disappeared.

Then come the tools, chosen for having evidence behind them. Slowed breathing, trained properly, shifts the nervous system measurably toward its calming branch — a lever you carry everywhere. Genuine switching-off is treated as a skill, not a luxury: research on recovery consistently links the ability to be mentally off work in off-hours with lower exhaustion and better wellbeing, so boundaries, transition rituals and absorbing off-work activities are part of the programme, not an afterthought. Medical hypnosis adds a training ground: rehearsing the descent into a low-arousal state until the body remembers the way down on its own.

One honest caveat closes the loop: personal tools regulate a person, not a workplace. When the pressure is structural — chronic overload, no control, no recognition — regulation buys room to think, and the thinking may need to include what can be renegotiated. Sessions make space for both: a calmer nervous system now, and a clearer look at what keeps setting off the alarm.
